Here, the artist uses the physicality of the thick carpeting material to visualize 'day' and 'night,’ symbolizing the intangible light and dark that make up the cycle of each day. Generally considered a floor covering, these carpets also recall the artist's Mat series, works based on the traditional hwamunseok mat. Yet, they are installed as if floating slightly off the floor, creating a zone of instability, or even hung together in a giant mural as a way to reconfigure space. The geometric structures inside the carpets, made up of squares, triangles, and circles, are determined by a set of rules that reflect the sizes of other her other series, such as Jeong, Heavy Round, or Warm Round.2of 2
